Lincoln Live is a nationally renowned daily live news program completely run by Lincoln students who have to be accepted into the course. Ethan has been part of the program since his sophomore year (first year of eligibility) and won a Regional Student Emmy for a documentary about School Safety.
Ethan has been playing the viola since 7th grade and has been a member of the Lincoln Chamber Orchestra (the highest level) since his sophomore year. He also serves as a counselor for the orchestra camp in the summer to help develop younger musicians.
Ethan tried club swimming in Middle School and really enjoyed the sport, especially as a cross-training activity for running. He first joined the high school team his sophomore year and saw a significant improvement in his running times during the following track season. He has continued to swim for cross-training throughout the year.
The Global Scholars Diploma is a three-year program that builds global competence in high school students. In the first two years, Ethan attended in-person events with local experts discussing global issues. For his final project, he focused on reading literacy and presented a plan to address it globally.
Church is an important part of Ethan's life. Not only is he very involved in his youth group, he also volunteers regularly with the Production Team by running sound and lighting during services and at various events throughout the year.
